Borrowing Against Silver Bullion Without Selling It
Silver is valued the same way as gold — weight against fineness against the market — but it behaves differently in two respects that matter to a borrower: it moves further, and there is a great deal more of it to move.
No credit check and no obligation. If borrowing is the wrong answer for your situation, you will be told that first.

How this metal behaves
Silver carries far less value per unit of weight and volume than gold, so an equivalent facility means substantially more physical material to transport, verify and store. That is not difficult, but it makes logistics a real part of the arrangement rather than an afterthought. The second difference is volatility: silver has historically moved further than gold in both directions, partly because roughly half its demand is industrial and responds to manufacturing conditions rather than to the monetary factors that drive gold.
What that means for a facility
- Recognized refiner bars in standard weights are the cleanest form; junk silver is assessed on content.
- Volume matters — an equivalent facility means considerably more material to move and store.
- Silver moves further than gold, so terms carry that into the sizing.
- Industrial demand means silver can respond to manufacturing conditions rather than monetary ones.
- Business-purpose lending only. Not offered for personal, family or household use.
Said plainly
When borrowing is the wrong call
Silver is the metal most often held in quantity by dealers who need working capital, which is the strongest case for borrowing rather than selling. It is also the metal most often held in quantity by people who are not sure why. If it is the second, sell some.

FAQ
Common questions
- Is silver worse collateral than gold?
- Not worse, but treated more conservatively for two honest reasons. It moves further, so a ratio has less headroom before it comes under pressure. And it is bulky, so a large position takes more handling. Neither is a criticism of the metal; both affect how a facility is sized.
- Do you accept junk silver and coin bags?
- Yes, valued on silver content rather than face value. Pre-1965 US coinage has a known content per dollar of face value, which makes assessment straightforward. Bags are weighed and verified at intake like any other form.
- Can silver be combined with gold in one facility?
- Yes, and it is the usual arrangement for dealers. Each metal is valued on its own market and aggregated. A mixed holding is generally steadier than a single-metal one, because the metals do not move together — and that steadiness works in your favor when the ratio is assessed.
Other collateral we accept
Gold Bullion
Weight against fineness against a market that trades continuously. There is very little here to argue about.

Palladium
Priced on a thin market that turns on catalytic converters, so a facility against it needs more headroom.

Platinum
Steadier than palladium, less liquid than gold, and priced on a market that follows neither of them.

Numismatic & Graded Coins
A collection built over decades cannot be rebuilt at the same prices. Certification, not weight, decides what it is worth.

Mixed Holdings
Gold bars, silver rounds, a few slabs, and something inherited nobody has identified. Every piece valued on its own market.
